Big Boy was born on July 03, 1968 in Rochester, New York, the first born of Dorothy and Claude Wilmer, and was a member of New Bethel CME Church since his childhood. He graduated from Rush-Henrietta High School ( then known as Roth High School )in 1986. He also attended Noth Carolina A&T in Greensboro, North Carolina. Anthony was the proud father of four. He cherished family and family cherished him. He had a special bond with his sister, Yawana, whom he nick-named his "Keeper", because though ill herself, she devoted days and nights to her brother whom she lovingly referred to as ,"Big Boy". Tony had a special way with young people, always taking time to share kind words and wisdom for life in a way they understood. A kind, gentle individual, he was passionate about any cause he was involved in, particulary the plight of young people in the community. As a volunteer with the Freedom School summer program, he had oversight of the meals and was very particular about what he served the children...he wanted it "right". Anthony had a warm sense of humor, loved music, video games, reading and was a movie buff. He was an inspiration to many during his illness, lecturing them on life and how to love others. He was loved and cherished by all who met him during his lifetime. Though he fought a long hard battle, he "won the race". Predeceased by his loving grandparents, (whom he considered his angels), Bessie Hill, known as "Mi-Ma' and Pierce Hill, known as "Pop", and his aunt, Mary Walker, Anthony departed this life July 9th 2013. He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents Dorothy and Claude Wilmer; sister, Yawana Wilmer (affectionately known as his keeper); son, Anthony Tyrone Wilmer,Jr.;daughters, Ashlyn Tyshae Wilmer and Autumn Tyler Wilmer; Keyonna Harrison, whom he raised as his own; granddaughter, Kynsington Harrison; devoted uncles, Calvin Wilmer and Uncle, Willie P. (Juel) Hill; Godmother, Mamie Burden; Godsister, Stephanie Corbitt; other relatives, church family, and friends, among them many young people who knew him simply as "Dad". Anthony you will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
